Grm Daily founder Posty has seen a lot of backlash over his interview with UK hip hop artist “Rapman.

On his talkshow called @notfortheradio that he hosts with Vis and Chams, many audience members felt the CEO of GRM wasn’t being professional.

Many saying he seemed bitter and jealous over Rapmas recent success and the impact that “Shiros Story” has had on his career.

During the interview you can feel that Posty and Rapman were very defensive towards one another. Nothing really malice but something under the surface that would be explained more as the interview continued.

NFTR is known for its very deep, honest and no holds barred style of questioning. During this episode fans weren’t impressed.

A very Important part of the interview that I saw was Posty’s views on conscious hip hop.

Over the years countless conscious UK mcs have openly criticised and made allegations that our scenes top Youtube music platforms have been unfairly biased against conscious music. Not having a balanced stream of content that showcases all types of styles of UK rap.

With Posty’s comments, where he does openly admit he’s more a fan of ignorant rap (as he calls it) than conscious could be seen as conformation of these statements. Not to say he can’t have a preference, he allowed to like what he wants.

Being from that 90’s golden hip hop era, he’s a fan of Jay Z, Biggie and surprisingly Nas who can be argued to be one of the most successful conscious rappers of his generation.

But it can be argued that his attitude towards conscious rap in this interview wasn’t of a balanced opinion but more of I really like one over the other.

Artist may feel when the leader of one of the most powerful and influential platforms in UK music has these opinion, he may not give the same support towards one art than the other.

Not based on skill level or audio quality, just your personal preference. Unfortunately even if Posty doesn’t actively control what goes up on the official site or Youtube, these comments will rub many artist the wrong way.
